Course Aims:


Intended Learning Outcomes of the 4 Modules:

Module 1 - What is Digital Ethics?
Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Describe the roles played by digital technologies in teaching and learning.
  • Explain the basic concepts of different ethical frameworks and their importance for evaluating the use of digital technology.

Module 2 - Basic Data Ethics: Use & Protection
Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify common definitions and perspectives within data ethics and their relations to teaching and learning.
  • Apply various ethical frameworks to data ethics scenarios in teaching and learning.

Module 3 - Generative AI Ethics
Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Describe the origins of generative AI systems and their current use within society.
  • Identify current issues related to the use of generative AI within higher education.

Module 4 – Digital Wellbeing
Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Describe the elements of digital wellbeing and their importance.
  • Explain ways of enhancing digital wellbeing in adopting technologies for teaching and learning.
